It is assumed the buyer is aware of the correct rooting protocol.
More suited for the larger garden as it can grow to 4.5m tall. More ideal for cider varieties, than the traditional M25 rootstock. Does not need staking after the first couple of years, unlike most other smaller dwarfing rootstocks.
Selected in 1932 from a cross of M.2 x ‘Northern Spy’ by the John Innes Horticultural Institute and the East Malling Research Station in England.
