Planting Guide
BARE ROOTED
1 - Remove packaging carefully, as they will have been packed to prevent damage during transit.
2 - Soak roots for a maximum of 2 hrs.
3 - If soil is frozen, then keep trees in a cool, frost free position. Ensuring roots are covered with damp soil or compost. Do not allow to dry out.
4 - When soil conditions allow. Dig a hole the same diameter as the depth of planting will be. Dig in compost if necessary. Do not dig in manure as this can kill tender new rots. Plant tree so soil level is the same as what the original tree was growing at. Use stake if necessary and tie. Back fill the soil, giving the tree a slight shake, to free any roots and to fill any air pockets. Using your foot, firm the soil. Apply a general fertilizer and water well. Remove any labels etc that could strangle the tree in later life.
5 - Always keep well watered even during winter periods, but not saturated to drown them.
6 - Check out T Slot planting if you are going to plant quantity.
