Originates from a trees on Bardsey Island off the Welsh coast that was discovered only in 1998. Declared unique by the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale.
The apple cooks to a delicate light golden fluff. It needs no sugar. Also makes excellent juice that is pinky straw coloured juice. Can also be made into excellent cider with excellent flavour and surprisingly strong. A good eating apple when ripe.
Remarkably scab and canker resistant.
