Also known as ‘Warwickshire Pippin’ as it was seedling raised at Wyken, Nr.Coventry, Warwickshire, in the 1700s. Wyken is a parent of Laxton’s Superb. It is also the basis of the pole trees being raised at East Malling Research Station. Fruit green to yellow – more yellow on exposed faces to sun. The apple is densely flavoured fruit with a surprisingly crisp texture.
