Apple - Blood of the Boyne - Scion
Soft flesh, sweet and tinged pink, with an interesting taste of sweet berries.
Flowering Group - 2
Pick - August
Store - August
Traditionally grown in the Boyne valley, County Meath, Ireland. Thought to be identical to Devonshire Quarrenden from Devon, UK.
A small early, blood red coloured dessert apple. This is an apple to be eaten fresh from the tree as it does not keep. The flesh is soft, sweet and tinged pink, with an interesting taste of sweet berries.
We also grow the Devonshire Quarrenden on our farm, but they are slightly different. Not too sure if it might be the location and soil that makes the difference.
