Not to be confused with  Lonicera periclymenum (common honeysuckle or woodbine) and other Lonicera species which normally have red berries as fruit are poisonous.

Lonicera caerulea, also known by its common names blue honeysuckle, sweetberry honeysuckle, fly honeysuckle (blue fly honeysuckle, blue-berried honeysuckle, haskap, or the honeyberry, is a non-climbing honeysuckle native throughout the cool temperate Northern Hemisphere in countries such as native to Siberia, northern China, northern Japan, Canada, Russia, and Poland.

Honeyberry is a relatively new introduction into the UK, and should be planted in pairs, to aid pollination and fruit production. Taste is very similar to a Blueberry, but in comparison I think the taste exceeds that of the Blueberry.

Can grow on any soil.
